How does JobScan Lite work?
The main application is loaded on the office PCs. This is where you set up details of your personnel, their wage rates and working hours. This is also where you set up your job details, print job cards and run your reports.
The data capture module is installed on the workplace pc which is linked on the network to the JobScan database which may be located on any networked PC or server. No keyboard or mouse is required. Using a barcode scanner, employees simply scan their ID badges to record their attendance and their task on the Job Cards to record their timesheets. As they scan, the system prompts them which barcode to scan next. The PC screen displays their current attendance & timesheet status, allowing them to verify their scan has been successful. No other information may be accessed from the workplace pc.
What hardware & systems do I require?
JobScan operates on a standard pc network running Windows XP over TCP/IP. No specialised hardware is required other than a Barcode scanner which can also be purchased in our store.
What kind of scanners do I need?
JobScan uses standard plug & play USB Laser scanners which connects to the workplace data capture pc. We recommend the Metrologic MS5145 Eclipse Scanner which can easily target the desired barcode and complete the data transmission with a simple press of a button. These may be purchased from most local on-line stores or from our on-line shop .
How many scanners do I need?
Usually 1 workplace data capture unit (scanner attached to p.c. terminal) per 20 employees is sufficient. However depending on workplace layout, it may sometimes be beneficial to install additional workplace pcs and scanners. Additional scanners may be purchased from most local on-line stores or from our on-line shop .
Can I use the system without scanning?
Yes you may update the system by direct keyboard entry. This is usually the case for employees operating off site and in office environments.
What size does my company need to be to use JobScan?
JobScan is aimed at companies from 2 employees upwards
Can JobScan be customised?
JobScan's utility and configuration tables allow you to control many features within the system, such as working time and overtime rules. All tables are exportable to MS Excel, allowing you to create your own reports.
Is the system multi user & what about access permission?
Only one user may access the main application at any one time using the correct password. There is no limit to the number of employees scanning on the data capture scanning application. You may load the data capture scanning application on up to 5 separate Pcs
What support is available?
Once you have a current technical support agreement, you may avail of our technical support service. Simply email your query direct from this website, quoting your licence serial number and details of your query and we will respond within the same working day. You may purchase an annual technical support agreement on out Store page.
Can I get a trial before I Buy?
Yes, you may fully use JobScan complete with workplace scanning for a period of 30 Days, after which time you must purchase a license to continue using the system.
